Apply for Free & Reduced-Priced Meals & Community Resources for Families

Posted Date: 10/30/25 (1:00 PM)

Three smiling children enjoy a school lunch, with a message about free and reduced-priced meals.
Due to the continued federal government shutdown, some families may see their SNAP (food assistance) benefits delayed or end as early as November 1. If you are at-risk of losing benefits, you are encouraged to complete a Free and Reduced-Price Meals application to ensure your student receives support. Even if your student doesn’t plan to eat school meals, qualifying can help your family with other programs, such as fee waivers and reduced activity costs.

How to Apply (if you haven't done so already)
The applications are now available online in Skyward Family Access.  You only need to fill out one application for all of the members of your family. Here's how to apply online:
  1. Visit Skyward Family Access. Enter your login and password the school has provided. If you need your account information, please call your school.
  2. Select Food Service on the left side of the screen
  3. Choose a Child
  4. Select the Applications Tab
  5. Click Add Application
  6. Follow the instructions on the left-hand side of the screen. Instructions are listed on each page. Click the Next button at the top of each page to be sure you are completing all the required steps.
Even if your student's school receives free meals, applications must still be submitted by all families every year to maintain the program for future years.  More details are available on our Free & Reduced Meals page on the district website.
